Performance indicators of water supply network of Goma Township in the Democratic Republic of Congo: a tripartite assessment

Abstract In Goma Township, the water supply system has become ineffective and insufficient against background of an increasing population with high demand. A study was therefore carried out to assess network Township using three performances indicators a view proposing possible solutions existing challenges. The methodology involved assessment evaluation production, physical characteristics, hydraulic characteristics current network. research utilized secondary data comprising technical reports from review literature, GIS sets, database converted into EPANET model its performances. results generally showed low performance (production capacity: 11%, characteristic: 33%, 71%) mainly related demand which outpaced capacity several design issues. used in this obtained can be not only for but also by other Sub-Saharan African cities order solve urban crisis.
